The Role:

In this key role you will have the end-to-end accountability for the design, ongoing development and implementation of the global process and platforms for Procurement Operations. This critical role will collaborate with Finance, Digital and the broader business with the purpose of optimizing the end-to-end processes, instituting automation and maximizing adoption across the organization. Reporting to the Global Head of Procure-to-Pay, the role is suitable for an experienced P2P leader who is a hands-on self-starter who enjoys managing change across a complex and fast-moving organization.

This position can be based in Atlanta, GA or Cambridge, MA.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
The Business Process Owner (BPO) Procurement Operations will own the design and delivery of the global process and system landscape to support the operating model for Moderna. Collaborating closely with the business, digital and shared service centers, this position will develop best-in-class operations through the use of Ariba and SAP. Additionally, you will support measurement of SLAs and KPIs as well as reporting on the end-to-end processes.

  • Align and consult on optimized global process design, its adoption, and an effective execution with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Supply Chain and Digital leadership.

  • Drive process transformation and adoption with best practices and new system functionality

  • Focus on efficiency, standardization, automation, and customer service

  • Lead the design and documentation of all processes (process flows, business process documentation, work instructions, end-user training)

  • Rollout and maximize adoption of process/system(s) to new users

  • Drive continuous enhancements to increase adoption, compliance, throughput and cycle times in close collaboration with Procurement Operations and cross functional/senior stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with global regions to ensure country-specific regulatory compliance

  • Provide governance over process/system requests including prioritization of changes with the Digital team

  • Offer best practice view on optimal processes from pharma, biotech or other industries.

  • Lead a small team to deliver global objectives

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 10+ years of Procurement Operations, with 5+ years management experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Demonstrated success in facilitating cross-functional teams in an international environment

  • Well versed with business, data, and technical language to connect processes, tools & data

  • Experience with Ariba and SAP REQUIRED.

  • Experience in process and policy mapping, development, and improvement REQUIRED.

  • Exceptional ability and demonstrable experience in working on own initiative.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and proven management capabilities including the ability to successfully own, design and facilitate workshops.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a demonstrated understanding to translate business requirements into operations or specifications with best value and customer service in mind.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and/or managing multiple priorities and projects in parallel.

  • Strong experience in upwards communication and senior stakeholder management, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience in implementing business change including designing processes, systems controls and governance

  • Experience in training, coaching and change management, leading teams to adoption of new processes.

  • Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, MS Office software. BPM software experience helpful

Moderna’s Enterprise Solutions Hub in Atlanta provides enterprise solutions similar to its counterpart in Warsaw, Poland, which was established in May 2021. Moderna's Hub in Atlanta will initially focus on delivering finance, human resources, procurement and digital solutions. Moderna is expecting to hire approximately 150-200 full time employees in the Atlanta Hub over the next two years.
