Job Overview:

Macmillan Learning is currently seeking an Associate Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team! As an Associate Digital Marketing Specialist, you will collaborate with your marketing colleagues to develop campaign tactics and execute campaigns across our print and digital solutions. You’ll support and create content for a variety of channels including email, paid and organic social media, virtual events and webinars, display ads, web, our Macmillan Learning Community, and more. You'll apply strong campaign management skills to translate campaigns into manageable milestones and work collaboratively across teams and functions to deliver effective and efficient campaigns.

The position is eligible for remote employment, it will exclude the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

In this role, you’ll work with a variety of marketing technologies and systems including Hybris (content management), Khoros (community), Marketo, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and Asana for campaign management.  We’re a Marketo-leaning team, so as an Associate Digital Marketing Specialist you will help build and QA email programs, event programs, newsletter programs, survey programs, and more in Marketo.                   

 Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple campaigns from planning through execution, including contributing ideas for tactical activities and content
  • Managing day-to-day campaign tasks and deliverables including prioritizing deadlines, maintaining timelines, communicating real-time status updates to teams, and monitoring performance
  • Building, QAing, and maintaining email, event, acquisition, engagement, other programs in Marketo
  • Creating content for social media, paid ads, email, newsletters, community, and other channels
  • Supporting our e-commerce initiatives including contributing to direct-to-student campaigns across channels. This will include managing our student blog, sourcing student writers, developing student content, maintaining a content calendar, and growing our student community.
  • Maintaining marketing content on our community, websites, and landing pages

What Skills & Experience You’ll Need

  • 2+ years experience in digital marketing with proven campaign or project management experience
  • At least 1+ year experience hands-on experience using Marketo or a comparable email/automation platform
  • Comfortable leading campaign tactical planning conversations; able to synthesize ideas from across the team and contribute new ideas for tactics and content as well
  • Strong campaign or project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet milestones
  • Strong attention to detail and the willingness to learn complex business rules and logic as it relates to our web properties
  • Ability to provide key metrics and insights to report on campaign performance
  • Interest in content creation with experience writing copy and developing assets and collateral for marketing channels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across teams and functions
  • Passion for learning new technologies and leveraging new channels to reach an audience and create a positive user experience
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Proficient in Google for Work (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
  • Basic HTML knowledge

If you have experience with Salesforce, Google Analytics, or content management systems, that’s a plus!

Educational Background Required:

BA in English, Communications, Marketing, Business or other related fields or equivalent work experience.
