Job Overview:

Under guidance of the Sr. Category Manager, Drug, Switch and Pediatrics, the Assoc Cat Manager Drug role is a customer facing role responsible for driving influence for Sanofi Categories in the Drug COT (primarily CVS and Walgreens). This role will proactively partner with the field sales teams, providing insightful direction leveraging Customer and Category Insights. The Assoc Manager will be required to possess a broad range of analytic capabilities, and be responsible for delivering best in class insights and story telling in the areas of In-market performance, shopper behavior and decision making, shelving/pricing research projects, and the development of aisle and category solutions. This role will have responsibility for working cross functionally with all of the brand, category and customer teams. They will be a champion of a culture of teamwork and sharing across the broader Shopper Marketing, Marketing, Sales, Sales Strategy, and Insights team, helping accelerate the development of a high performance team.

  • The role will have interactions with CVS and Walgreens field sales teams, leveraging insights to help drive strategic decisions on new items, promotional planning, and functions of Category Management, including shelf / POG recommendations.

    • Help Drug Channel sales teams develop strategic plans to achieve new item distribution, merchandising, and promotional objectives

    • Provide analytical support on the Sanofi portfolio using ExtraCare Precima, CMG, myWalgreens Unify, RSi, and Nielsen/IRI scan and panel data.

    • Co-develop and co-manage major, field-based, retailer specific, research projects utilizing macro expertise while identifying potential project efficiencies across internal/external efforts.

    • Leverage existing category management inventories, identify insight and data gaps, and help secure resources to develop the next evolutions of category leadership merchandising plans.

    • Cull down broad consumer-based trends into meaningful new insights for all brands

    • Anticipate and respond to customer and customer team needs, visiting retail environments regularly and initiating appropriate selling enhancement and/or defense plans to capitalize on market opportunities

    • Acting liaison for Category Management team to sales strategy and marketing


B.A. / B.S. degree required.

  • 3 + years of proven delivery in CPG, preferably within OTC/, both top and bottom-line results required. Excellent business acumen; proficient category and segment knowledge

  • Experience with mining syndicated and retailer/loyalty data, turning it into actionable insights is required.

  • Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams and/or a matrixed environment while managing significant volume of projects preferred.
