We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Brand Manager on Rao’s Homemade & Michael Angelo’s based out of our Montclair, New Jersey office where we are returning to a hybrid work environment.

Rao's Homemade offers delicious, authentic pasta sauces made with whole Italian tomatoes as well as other Italian specialty foods such as premium frozen entrees, slow-simmered soups, and bronze die cut pastas.  Michael Angelo’s embodies the simple pleasures of Italian life, offering classic Italian meals, just like you would make at home. Each meal is inspired by Italian traditions, with family recipes handed down from our matriarch, Nonna Foti.

The Associate Brand Manager will strengthen their fundamental knowledge in brand marketing by leading initiatives that drive growth and a deeper understanding of business performance for our Dinners & Sauces business unit, which is inclusive of both the Rao’s Homemade and Michael Angelo’s brands. This person will serve as a brand champion set out to protect and promote each brand’s unique consumer value proposition.  The successful candidate will be comfortable leading projects with tenacity in order to effectively and efficiently achieve superior in-market results.

Job responsibilities:

  • Become the Marketing lead for all business analytics, consumer insights, and industry trends by completing routine analytics on base business, newly launched products, and the competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders, present learnings to the leadership team, and help develop solutions in response to in-market performance.
  • Assist in monthly forecasting decisions and participate in our S&OP process by providing data analytics and insights.
  • Oversee the entire Dinners and Sauces marketing budget to ensure we execute our annual plans with excellence while maintaining the financial targets and obligations of the business.
  • Preserve our brand equity and brand voice by developing and maintaining all brand assets, imagery, and promotional graphics for Rao’s Homemade and Michael Angelo’s.
  • Co-own our tradeshow strategy and execution that brings to life our brand identity.
  • Be a true business partner within the company, across many functions and levels of the organization, by confidently representing the voice of our consumers.
  • Play a key role in the Sovos Marketing function, and continuously bring positive energy to the Dinners & Sauces business unit and throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years experience in brand management within the CPG food industry required
  • Proficiency with syndicated data platforms, such as IRI or Neilson, and data analytic databases/resources
  • Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyze situations and quickly develop options, outlining assumptions, trade-offs, & risks
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent project management skills and high attention to detail, including ability to manage multiple tasks & deadlines, and prioritize against the most important business drivers
  • Has a proven track record of delivering results, including innovative ideas and methods to drive winning marketplace & financial outcomes
  • A high-energy, passionate individual who leads by example and builds relationships on a foundation of trust & respect
  • Hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach to leadership and partnership in representing the consumer. Excellence in working with cross-functional team when needed to provide energy, ownership and involvement in major initiatives related to the products and brand with an adept ability to multi-task at all levels
  • An innate desire to hold themselves fully accountable for delivering results, with an internal fire to succeed. Can navigate, and even thrive, when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to persuade, influence & inspire through both verbal and written communication Comfortable being direct while forging strong relationships that endure
