  • Become an expert on analytes assigned to you and develop assays that meet technical and marketing requirements
  • Develop and launch assays
  • Create a product design file and thoroughly execute the required experiments and documentation according to the product development SOPs for each product
    • Ensure organization of product design file for safe preservation of company informational asset
  • Prepare documentation according to scientific methodology, good laboratory practices, and standard operation procedures
  • Successful transfer of developed assays to production measured by multiple production lots meeting specification and stability requirements
  • Execute methods on analytical equipment for evaluation and manipulation of biological reagents such as proteins, antibodies, and other biochemicals
  • Selecting and purchasing reagents and new equipment to expand our capabilities
  • Safety of yourself and others in the laboratory
  • Research assigned analytes, their cell signalling pathways, receptors, binding proteins, disease pathologies, and other biological interactions to become an expert prior to starting an assay development
  • Identify commercial sources of antigens, antibodies, and calibrators, or custom sources thereof, and negotiate pricing (with oversight) to meet commercial/market pricing limitations
  • Conceptualize assay designs and execute experiments to optimize the assays performance, always focusing on making them accurate, repeatable, and easy to use
    • Consultation with other scientists and the Chief Scientific Officer to develop concepts and ideas
  • Execution of validation protocols and stability studies according to good laboratory practices
  • Writing of batch records and tech transfer to production facility
    • Continued responsibility for the product until 3 validated lots have been successfully completed
  • Execution of product development SOPs
  • Creation and execution of product design file, executive and marketing summary, product initiation basis for development, development summary, validation, stability, and tech transfer to manufacturing for each product
  • Contribute to list of future analyte targets, i.e. provide suggestions for additions to the portfolio
  • Project timeline reporting, experimental design review and contribution, new product development presentations, and monthly R&D meeting presentations
  • Perform technical writing (product descriptions for marketing, product inserts), experimental design, & execution for NIH/SBIR grants
  • Travel infrequent travel (up to 10% per year) to production facility in Swedesboro, NJ to visit with personnel, troubleshoot product transfers, and assist with analytical equipment or production

Qualification you will need;


  • Required: B.S. in immunology or similar
  • 1 year personally developing immunoassays required
  • Knowledge of assay development
  • Knowledge of laboratory setting and associate equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of quality systems and assay validation
  • Knowledge of antibody and antigen/protein development and purification
