None/Not RequiredTechnical leadership over the Fire Protection (Kidde Aerospace) engineering organization, including all design engineering and functional disciplines. The position is based in Wilson, North Carolina, with staff members also located in Raleigh, NC, France, Germany, and the U.K. The leader is responsible for driving engineering excellence with strong process adherence and ensuring high quality deliverables to customers and stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
Leader over multiple engineering managers responsible for the full lifecycle of product design and technical product support in multiple locations
Engineering disciplines include mechanical, electrical, chemical, systems, software, project
Responsible for technical project planning, execution, and tracking
Resource management and global staff sourcing strategy
Responsible for executing advanced product technology development
Ensure strong organizational alignment with peer functions (quality, operations, program, business value stream leaders)
External customer technical interface and communication
Engineering budgetary and department overhead budget
Talent development and training
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Leadership experience is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
Fire protection product / system background & experience in design, development & support
-Strong change agent and strategic thinker with a bias for action
Familiarization with Agile, CORE/six sigma, ProCert, PPAP, and policy deployment
Experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary global engineering organization
Experience working with both commercial and defense customers
Project management skills and strategic planning experience
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical subjects concisely at all levels of the organization and with customers.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and support site business transformation and continuous improvement projects
Ability to lead and coach people to develop core leadership skills and develop innovative solutions to solve complex problems
Travel includes both domestic and international: 15%
