Job Overview
As a growing company with multiple locations, We are looking for a talented Assistant Warehouse Manager to support and help lead our warehouse operations. In this role, you will assist in managing all receiving, shipping, and distribution activities while supervising staff, maintaining a safe work environment, and driving continuous improvement. What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
- Supervise warehouse employees and enforce company policies and legal regulations.
- Completes warehouse operation requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Responsible for food safety, quality, and legality of food products
- Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
Things you need to be able to do:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines and be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Computer Skills: Please check off all necessary skills from the following. Order Processing Systems, Payroll Systems, Human Resource Systems, Spreadsheet Software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Carry up to 50 lbs. Push/Pull up to 30 lbs. of force.
- Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in. From the floor.
- Must be able to be exposed to a refrigerated and freezer environment, ranging from 0 - 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to reach bend.
Things that are a plus:
- 1 to 3 years of management experience in a warehouse environment.
- 5+ years of total warehouse experience.
- Certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of shift operations.
