Position Summary:

The Assistant Supervisor will support the Departmental Supervisor / Manager in achieving production goals with upholstery assembly and hand sanding of furniture.  This role will assist the Supervisor/Manager with achieving departmental safety and quality goals. 

Position Details:

• Assist with efficiency standards, quality, first time yield, and improvement processes.
• Support improvement teams within departments of responsibility.
• Assist with ensuring best in class safe work environment standards
• Assist with maintaining Department staffing levels and retention targets
• Follow and maintain compliance to human resource guidelines
• Provide tools and coaching for employees.
• Communicates with Departmental Supervisor/Manager and manufacturing associates to resolve any quality or production issues, or concerns.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in directing the work of others in a furniture manufacturing setting preferred
• Proficient computer skills required; SAP experience a plus
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
