Assistant Supervisor - Assembly

The Assistant Production Supervisor supports the Production Supervisor in leading production teams to safely produce quality products while meeting productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction goals. This role focuses on day-to-day floor leadership, coordination, training support, and execution of established processes. The Assistant Production Supervisor serves as a key operational resource and may act as the lead in the Supervisor’s absence.


Job Duties: 

1. Leadership and Team Management

· Supports the Production Supervisor in daily team leadership, including work assignments, workflow coordination, and adherence to schedules.

· Provides hands-on guidance and coaching to employees on the production floor.

· Reinforces safety, quality, and company standards through daily observation and feedback.

· Assists with onboarding and training of new employees and cross-training of existing team members.

· Monitors attendance, work output, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.

· Instructs team members on proper use of equipment, safety devices, and emergency procedures.

· Documents training activities and escalates performance or conduct issues to the Production Supervisor.

· Acts as a point of contact for employees regarding day-to-day operational questions.

2. Project Management

· Assists in setting and communicating daily production priorities and objectives.

· Helps ensure materials, tools, and resources are available to meet production needs.

· Supports task prioritization and workload balancing across team members.

· Works with the Production Supervisor to identify and address issues impacting productivity, safety, or quality.

· Completes required production and process documentation accurately and on time.

· Supports coordination with maintenance, engineering, or other departments as needed.

3. Process Improvement

· Supports lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S activities, and standard work adherence.

· Assists in identifying production inefficiencies, quality concerns, or safety risks.

· Participates in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions under Supervisor direction.

· Encourages employee engagement in continuous improvement ideas and feedback.

Requirements

  

· Must consistently exhibit the XeteX company values including: Integrity, Customer Focus, Excellence, Collaboration and Autonomy

· Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in supervisory role preferred, Highschool Diploma required.

· Lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement experience preferred

· Self-starter. Able to work with minimal supervision

· Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts (preferred).

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to follow direction while exercising sound judgment on the production floor.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical requirements

· Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms-length

· Climb or balance

· Stoop, kneel and crouch

· Must be able to climb a ladder to access equipment

· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally list and/or move up to 75 pounds.
