Description
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager who is a fast learner, has a relentless drive for success and results, motivated by continuous learning and sets goals to achieve. This position will be based out of Ozark, Missouri.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing asphalt plant and paving projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with project goals, scope, and budget.
- Monitor and document project schedules, budgets, material deliveries, and deadlines.
- Coordinate closely with contractors, suppliers, quarry contacts, and internal teams to gather data on plant site locations, haul rates, and material availability.
- Support asphalt material design tracking and mix quality compliance.
- Document decision-making processes and project milestones from internal and external meetings.
- Work with the back office to translate field data into readable reports for the operations manager.
- Prepare and maintain project documents such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and KPI summaries.
- Create and manage project calendars with key deliverables and milestones.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Track and report on critical service and cost metrics, including:
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Mix cost comparisons
- RAP and RAS crushing schedules and demand
- Support procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractor services as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field – or equivalent experience preferred but not required
- Familiarity with asphalt plant operations, paving processes, and DOT mix specifications preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable reviewing financial documents, technical drawings, and site plans.
- Willingness to work in the field as needed to investigate discrepancies or verify progress.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project) is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
