Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager is a key support role to the Project Manager. Numerous and various challenging tasks will be assigned, mentored and reviewed. The ability to understand and advance your budgeting, purchasing and estimating skill set will be an important, integral part of your training. This position will also include presiding in client and engineering meetings as well as jobsite equipment and production assessments. This is an outstanding career position for the right candidate!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned by the Project Manager including planning and coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures and standards are maintained, etc.
- Maintain all change order, submittal and document (drawing) control logs.
- Perform detailed change order electrical take-offs and pricing.
- Coordinate purchase orders and deliveries with various vendors and on-site workers.
- Document control for active projects assigned.
- Help with safety coordination.
- Responsible for contract submittals that are accurate and timely.
- Responsible for reviewing Subcontractors’ scopes and issuing the Subcontractors’ contracts.
- Responsible for the assembly and timely delivery of the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure that the project quality control plan is in effect and followed.
- Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc.
- Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress
- Assume total project supervision responsibility in Project Manger’s absence.
- Prepares change orders and project reports and documentation.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a construction-related role OR a graduate from construction management school.
- 1 year low voltage experience preferred.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, door hardware schedules, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or other related discipline preferred.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills
- Must be a self-starter and a problem solver
Pay Rate:
$65,000 - $85,000 / year
