The Assistant Production Manager helps to directly supervise the daily operations of a specified unit and ensures that daily schedules of activity and established quality standards are maintained. This includes the coordination of the individual and collective efforts of assigned staff.

The major responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all Crew Members at all times
  • Communicate all raw needs to the warehouse in a timely manner (plenty of heads up)
  • Manage effective changeovers
  • Drive effective, actionable huddles; escalate issues appropriately to Manager
  • Problem solve, remove obstacles and challenges that stand in the crews’ way of achieving production targets
  • Update/Print transaction reports to capture changes and adjust work schedule accordingly
  • Coach and validate play standards
  • Enter maintenance work orders
  • Oversee, coach, and drive all Red Zone functionality
  • Execute and communicate accurate shift handoff information daily
  • Ensure Crew Member engagement in the task at hand and monitor excessive breaks
  • Communicate any crew member issues and challenges to the manager
  • Track and turn in all labor transfers
  • Oversee effective training and onboarding of all new crew members
  • Validate and oversee that work schedule is following route dispatch times
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all samples
  • Manage the rollout of new items and the special orders
  • Oversee best practices surrounding WIP control
  • Manage and record accurate attendance logs; turn in to Manager
  • Adhere to all rules of safety and regulatory compliance as applicable to the value stream (USDA QTV, FDA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Able to work in a cold, wet environment up to 95% of their time on the job
  • Crew Member needs to walk, stand and use hands to finger dexterity, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must have good vision, be able to talk, and be able to hear directions.
  • Must be able to work around cleaning chemicals for example chlorine and sanitizer. Must be able to work in an environment with ammonia.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Must be:

  • 18 years of age
  • Able to successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to successfully pass drug test
  • Able to work 5-6 days a week
  • Able to work weekends and holidays
  • Able to work 8+ hours per day.
