What You’ll Do
As our Assistant Operations Manager, you will be supporting the Retail Channel and our customer, Lowe’s. In this role, you’ll execute daily warehouse operations and supervise frontline teams to ensure we meet operational targets every day. This hands-on leadership role focuses on direct employee management, process implementation, and problem-solving on the warehouse floor while serving as the key connection between management and our warehouse team members.
Location: This position will be based on our Sumner, WA branch. This role is required to work in-branch 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
Support the Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day warehouse activities while directly supervising team members across all shifts to meet operational targets.
Monitor team performance and skill development, providing hands-on coaching and training to ensure productivity and quality standards are consistently met.
Manage order fulfillment operations including will call and on-time delivery functions through our WMS system while ensuring accurate inventory control and shipping processes.
Lead new hire integration by executing our 100-day success plan and working with Talent Acquisition to ensure comprehensive onboarding into Metrie’s culture.
Administer safety programs and ensure compliance with all regulations while promoting a positive work environment that champions Metrie’s values.
Execute inventory management processes including cycle counts and implement improvement projects to optimize warehouse operations across the facility.
Who You Are
You’re a Hands-On Leader: You have strong communication and customer service skills with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities. You can handle changing priorities and use good judgement in stressful situations while maintain a focus on operational excellence.
Process & Performance Focused: You have demonstrated leadership skills in implementing and managing change through process improvement and performance metrics review. Experience with interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations preferred.
Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You’re comfortable with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). You have LEAN/business improvement experience with ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects while setting clear priorities.
Safety & Compliance Minded: You understand the importance of maintaining safe work environments and ensuring compliance with all operational regulations and company standards.

It would be an added bonus if you have:
Bilingual in Spanish
Experience working in both Canada and US
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or proven experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
3-5 years management experience managing distribution center/logistics teams.
Experience supervising and motivating others in a warehouse or distribution setting.
Knowledge of warehousing, logistics, operations, transportation and supply chain principles and processes.
LEAN/business improvement methodologies experience.
Knowledge of millwork and/or Metrie products & services.
Previous experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
Strong communication and customer service skills; interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities and use of good judgement in stressful situations.
Demonstrated leadership skills in implementing and managing change through process improvement and reviewing performance metrics.
Experience with interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.

Working in-branch, together, is the default workplace environment for Metrie to be an exceptional place to work. Being together in-person enables deeper communication, spontaneous problem-solving, direct mentoring, and continuous learning. All Metrie employees work in-branch 5 days a week.
In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at $75,000.00−$90,000.00. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
