Assistant Field Maintenance Technician

The Derrickhand is responsible for the mud systems. This includes measuring mud weight and viscosity, mixing chemicals, and maintaining mud pumps, shakers, and tanks. Other responsibilities include steadying pipe during connections/disconnections and guiding pipe into and out of elevators. The Derrickhand works closely with and oversees the Floorhands and Motorhand and works under the supervision of the Driller and assists in day-to-day operations. The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner serves as the primary contact for general HR related issues and questions while providing support and guidance to the corporate office and rig construction yard in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with our policies and procedures and contribute to the broader HR organization strategies, initiatives and overall business objectives. This role requires a strong HR generalist background with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, other HR professionals and stakeholders at all levels. Brief Description: The Derrickhand is responsible for the mud systems. This includes measuring mud weight and viscosity, mixing chemicals, and maintaining mud pumps, shakers, and tanks. Other responsibilities include steadying pipe during connections/disconnections and guiding pipe into and out of elevators. The Derrickhand works closely with and oversees the Floorhands and Motorhand and works under the supervision of the Driller and assists in day-to-day operations. The Driller is responsible for monitoring well conditions and drilling parameters. The Driller operates and monitors the essential systems of the drilling rig including: the hoisting, well control, and mud and power systems. The driller is responsible for the supervision of the rig crew, ensuring that they work safely and effectively. Additional responsibilities include delegating tasks to Derrickhand, Motorhand, and Floorhands based on drilling activities. The Driller must be able to communicate with a variety of employees and third parties including Customer representatives and Directional Driller. The Tech 1 - Field Maintenance travels to drilling rig field locations to perform a variety of equipment service and maintenance activities. Activities include servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing equipment, documenting equipment condition and maintenance activities. Additional duties include training and mentoring crew on operational level maintenance, coordinating maintenance related projects on rigs, and providing appropriate feedback to the job site manager and maintenance management team. The Motorhand’s primary duty is to ensure that all equipment is operating and functioning properly and execute minor repair work on equipment. The Motorhand is responsible for the generators, equipment, and systems that power the rig and drilling activities. Additional responsibilities include off-loading materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting in rig up and rig down. The Motorhand works closely with and oversees Floorhands on the rig floor, assists the Derrickhand as needed, and assists the Driller in day-to-day operations. The Field Operator 1 will be responsible for assisting in all phases of assembly, disassembly, and repair of containment units, delivery and setup of rental equipment, and general labor related to tubular products. This position works under the direction of the Assistant Field Manager and/or Field Manager. The Equipment Operator, Level 4 (Non-DOT) is responsible for performing advanced work in rigging up and rigging down of equipment requiring advanced skills and/or training in operating and maintaining equipment in either cementing, fracturing, or other, as required. Major responsibilities include leading and mentoring other Equipment Operators, driving company vehicles and trucks, general maintenance and repair of pumping equipment and attachments and assisting in pumping activities. This position works under the direction of the Service Supervisor or other supervisor, as applicable. The Equipment Operator, Entry Level (Non-DOT) is responsible for working as one of the crew members assigned to the field in fracturing, or other, as required. The candidate must demonstrate safe work habits, be able to follow directions and work well as part of a team. Major responsibilities include general maintenance and repair of pumping equipment and attachments and assisting in pumping activities. This position works under the direction of the Service Supervisor or other supervisor, as applicable.
