Your role:

You’re not just crunching numbers — you’re shaping our financial future. As our Assistant Controller, you’ll be a key player behind the scenes, partnering with leadership and guiding the accounting team to:

• Drive accurate, timely financial reporting that helps us make smart decisions.
• Lead the monthly and annual close process like a pro — journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with insight and precision.
• Manage daily cash reporting, wire transfers, and treasury transactions.
• Oversee sales, use, and fuel tax filings with confidence.
• Collaborate with external CPAs on annual reviews and tax filings.
• Maintain our general ledger, fixed asset records, and accounting for multiple entities.
• Be the go-to resource for complex accounting questions, system settings, and process improvement.

Your impact:

Process Leadership: Ensure smooth financial operations, accurate reporting, and compliant practices across departments.

Business Partnership: Work closely with the CFO and Accounting Manager to support company strategy and growth.

System & Data Management: Manage accounting systems (Produce Pro, Prophix, online banking) to keep financial data organized and actionable.

Mentorship: Guide and support accounting staff, promoting development and consistency.

Compliance: Stay ahead of GAAP, tax rules, and regulatory requirements — and keep us in the clear.

What You Bring to the Table:

Financial Firepower: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5–7+ years of accounting experience (bonus points for public accounting/CPA firm background).

Sharp Mindset: Strong GAAP knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Tech Confidence: You know your way around Excel, accounting platforms, and financial reporting tools.

Independent Drive: You take ownership, solve problems fast, and move projects forward.

Team Mentality: You communicate clearly, collaborate easily, and support your people — from AP clerks to the CFO.

Ethical Standards: High integrity, confidentiality, and a serious sense of responsibility.
