Job Summary:
The Assistant Clerk is responsible for creating packing slips for shipment. Complete any ASN or portal work required by customer. Will need to be able to email or enter information on portal to set up freight shipments. ASN and invoice all shipments and able to work closely with other departments as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Perform work in customer portals and creates ASN’s.
- Responsible for routing outbound freight
- Maintains shipping and receiving logs and maintains files of shipping records.
- Determines most cost efficient bundling of items (e.g., palletizing or individual packages). Prepares packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation as necessary.
- The Assistant clerk checks the details of orders, including the quantity and type of goods
- Preparing shipping documents, like invoices and packing list.
- Arranging for pickup or delivery of goods, working with various shipping companies
- Tracking shipments and updating customers on the status of their orders
- Maintaining records of outgoing shipments, including details of goods shipped, shipping methods, and costs

Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience using customer portals
- Prior experience using a recent version of SAP
Special Position Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s license
- Work is done in an office w3hich is in the warehouse area, which can have fluctuating temperatures in the winter and summer months
Physical Demands/ Equipment used to perfom the job:
- Able to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures throughout the year
- Appropriate PPE required to be used (i.e., safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.) in various areas of the facility
