Responsibilities
- Mechanical Assembly — Chassis, frames, brackets, optical mounts, linear slides, and precision motion stages per engineering drawings and BOMs
- Wiring & Cabling — Point-to-point wiring, cable harness fabrication, routing, dressing, labeling, and connector termination per schematics
- Power Supply Installation — Mount and wire AC/DC power supplies, PDUs, and DC distribution; verify voltages with DMM before energizing
- PCBA & Electronics — Install PCBAs, motion controllers, and I/O modules with strict ESD compliance; make all board-level connections
- Spindle & Motion Components — Install and align spindle, stage assemblies, controllers & related amplifiers.
- Optical & Sensor Components — Handle and install laser modules, detector assemblies, and optical mounts.
- System Integration — Complete full system build & conduct power on, system buyoffs.
Skills
- 3+ years hands-on electromechanical assembly experience (capital equipment, scientific instruments, or test & measurement preferred) - if someone has at least one of these, the manager will consider, but having all of these would make them more attractive and will standout to the manager.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
- Proficient in cable fabrication: crimping, soldering, and multi-connector termination
- Strong ESD handling discipline and PCBA installation experience - preferred.
- Competent with DMM, torque wrenches, hand tools, and precision assembly techniques
Education
- High School Diploma/GED + 3+ years hands-on assembly experience (verified via references)
- OR Associate's degree in related field + 2+ years assembly experience
