Skills Required
Primary (Must-Have):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of manufacturing, assembly, or production experience
- Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, technical coursework, or hobbies
- Experience performing repetitive mechanical assembly tasks
- Ability to read and understand simple assembly layouts and drawings
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Ability to follow written instructions, color codes, and assembly procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate production documentation
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives
Secondary (Good to Have):
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Experience in electrical or mechanical component assembly
- Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Technical school or vocational training
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Position Overview
- The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing repetitive mechanical assembly operations involving sensitive and precise hand movements while maintaining production pace and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations through the assembly and testing of mechanical and electrical components, adherence to safety procedures, and participation in continuous improvement activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test mechanical and electrical components according to established procedures
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and product quality standards
- Successfully complete required safety and quality training
- Receive components and materials in programmed sequence for assembly
- Perform repetitive assembly operations requiring hand-eye coordination and precision
- Assemble minor variations of standard products
- Follow assembly instructions, color codes, thread taping, and PVC thermal welding procedures
- Operate simple hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures
- Enter work hours into ERP systems (SAP) when applicable
- Complete required production documentation accurately
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and daily 5S housekeeping activities
- Read and interpret simple layout and assembly drawings
- Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and safe conditions.
- Support internal and external customer requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through work experience, technical education, or related activities
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and maintain quality standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
