The Assembly Team Lead supports day-to-day assembly operations by providing on-the-floor technical guidance and reinforcing execution against production priorities. This role reports to the supervisor and partners closely to maintain production flow, reinforce quality and process expectations, and support team coordination.
The position operates within a precision, cleanroom environment focused on optical assembly. The Team Lead plays a key role in maintaining consistency in how work is performed, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and helping the team meet output, quality, and scheduling targets.
This is a working role that partners closely with technicians while providing technical support, coordination, and communication across the team and with cross-functional partners, including engineering, quality, and operations.
Support execution of daily production priorities set by the supervisor by providing on-the-floor technical guidance to technicians
Reinforce work sequencing and task priorities to support production schedules and department goals
Provide technical support during assembly, inspection, and testing activities to ensure work is performed to standard
Reinforce adherence to work instructions, quality standards, and cleanroom protocols
Monitor work in process and escalate risks to quality, output, or schedule
Assist with troubleshooting of assembly and process issues and escalate as needed
Assist with coordination of resources, including workforce, equipment, and material flow, to support daily execution
Communicate updates, risks, and issues to the supervisor and cross-functional partners
Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support issue resolution and production needs
Support training efforts by reinforcing standard work and developing technical capability across the team
Provide feedback to the supervisor on team performance and development needs
Identify process improvement opportunities and escalate to the supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in manufacturing, optics, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in precision or optical assembly
2+ years of experience supporting production execution, training others, or guiding work within a team environment
Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment preferred
Strong understanding of assembly processes and production workflows
Ability to follow and reinforce standard work, procedures, and quality requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Ability to prioritize work and support coordination across a team
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional teams
Ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately
Basic problem-solving skills in a production environment
Basic computer skills to support reporting and system use, including ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards)
Ability to train and develop others in technical processes and standard work
Work is performed in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment with strict adherence to contamination control protocols
Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garments
Frequent standing, walking, and working at assembly stations
Frequent handling of small, delicate components requiring precision and care
Frequent use of hands for tools, materials, and measurement equipment
Ability to lift and move materials as required

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $61,200.00 - $91,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
