Position Overview

Masterbilt Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Assembly Specialist to support the assembly of precision components and sub-assemblies used in aerospace, automation, and advanced manufacturing applications.

This role is critical to ensuring products are assembled accurately, safely, and in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, follows processes closely, and works well within a team-based manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production

  • Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and fixtures to complete assemblies accurately
  • Verify part orientation, fit, and function during assembly
  • Follow build sequences, travelers, and job packets

Quality & Documentation

  • Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional checks during assembly
  • Identify and report defects, nonconformances, or missing components
  • Accurately complete required production and quality documentation
  • Work closely with Quality and Engineering to resolve assembly issues

Process & Safety

  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

Team & Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and cross-functional teams
  • Assist with training of new team members as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals


Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or related environment preferred
  • Aerospace, precision manufacturing, or mechanical assembly experience a plus

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, or assembly instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 6–8 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to operate tools and view computer screens or paperwork as needed

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and assembly floor environment
  • Moderate noise levels; PPE required in designated areas
  • Limited travel; primarily on-site work
