Job Summary:
The position involves performing various physical and mental tasks related to machine operation, including first-piece inspections and data recording for each job.
Responsibilities:
· Duties require frequent physical and mental/visual activity.
· Perform first-piece inspections and record data for each job.
· Perform tasks required to run machines, including operating controls and monitoring conditions.
· Perform piercing, bending, and forming operations on various equipment where others may or may not have made a setup.
· Visually inspect work during the run for burrs, broken punches, etc.,
· Working from shop orders, checking work against drawings, and using fixed gauges.
· May assist with moving material, parts, or containers.
· Engage safety devices before starting press.
· Notify the set-up person regarding difficulties with dies or malfunction of equipment.
· May operate other equipment in the department as directed.
· Follow prescribed safety practices, using all safety devices furnished. Perform other duties as assigned.
· Use micrometers, scales, and fixed gauges and record inspection results.
Requirements:
· Some use of adding and subtracting.
· 2 and up to 3 months of previous experience with various machines, tooling, parts, and inspection equipment.
Physical Requirements:
· Light physical effort loading and unloading parts, frequently moving material, parts, and tooling, operating press, continuously lifting or moving lightweight material.
· Able to lift to 10 lbs.
· English speaking is preferred.
