We are seeking a dedicated Assembly Process Engineer to join our team. This role Engineer is responsible for reviewing, recommending, and implementing assembly processes improvements for productivity, quality, and safety of current processes for the manufacture of product at MPE. 

As an Assembly Process Engineer you will: 

  • Define the process for the assembly of MPE products. Create and modify work instructions, create process steps, develop and create process drawings, and create any quality instruction requirements. 
  • Establish line layouts and station workflow.
  • Determine tooling and fixture requirements.
  • Maintain revision control through MPE’s ERP system.
  • Provide technical manufacturing support throughout the organization.
  • Communicate with customers on manufacturing techniques and quality related issues. 
  • Continuously improve the assembly process engineering procedures for improved quality to the floor results.
  • Consult with supervisors and leads to determine acceptable quality levels. 
  • Research tools, methodologies, and processes to find solutions to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Complete time studies on manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the training of operations personnel on new and revised products.

Qualifications 

  • Degree in a technical field such as mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering or related experience 
  • 2+ year of experience in mechanical assembly 
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints 
  • SolidWorks/Pro-E/CAD experience
