Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

2nd Shift Schedule (4pm -12am)
The Assembler Operators 2nd Shift positions are covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
Union Pay Rate: $24.22 hr. with a shift differential of $1.00 an hour for worked performed on 2nd shift. 
$1.00 hr. raise after the first 6 months of employment.  


Performs a variety of production and test functions, including some of the following:
Assemble, repair and inspect all types of electrical/mechanical assemblies and circuit boards in the construction of units/systems.

Perform a variety of tasks in the movement, stocking and issuing of orders.
Perform routine data analysis and identify readily evident and/or recurring problems such as locating defective components, wiring errors, alignment, etc.
  • Use basic computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel) as needed for record-keeping and data analysis.
  • Maintain records and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform chemical handling & recycling functions.
  • Perform general cleanup of the work area.
  • Perform Go/No Go Testing, i.e. cables and programming
  • Perform other duties as may be required.
  • Works from written procedures and/or oral instructions. Must be capable of lifting and /or handling heavy parts, material, or equipment. May be required to stand for long periods of time. Must meet necessary visual requirements to perform this job.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.
This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

 

Required Skills and Education

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as a strong team member & contributor 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Self-motivated 
  • Ability to sit & stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work a 2nd Shift Schedule (4pm -12am)
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance 
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions 
Union pay is standard to union contract

Preferred Skills and Education

  • J-Standard for circuit card assembly is a plus
  • Prior certification to NASA 8739, J-Standard 001 for circuit card assembly.
  • Mechanically inclined (preferred not required)
  • Soldering experience is a plus
  • Ability to operator semi-automatic manufacturing equipment for Circuit Card Assembly Manufacturing
  • In process and quality microscope inspection skills to IPC-610 is a plus
