Description:
The Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will optimize assembly processes by managing ERP system entries and supporting engineering and quality activities. The Engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on tooling, capital improvements, defect prevention, and training. Utilizing 5S, Lean, and other best practices, the Engineer will identify inefficiencies, capture data, and implement improvements, projects, etc. to enhance product quality and production efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
Responsibilities:
- Create work instructions using Engineering blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
- Engage in QA activities such as RCCA, APQP and produce any necessary documentation as required (e.g. CAs, 8D, etc.)
- Develop and maintain Epicor ERP system, e.g. Item masters, BOM’s, routings, etc.
- Identify areas for capital improvements and develop proposals for new equipment.
- Utilize 5S, Six Sigma and other methods to capture data and inform decision-making
- Analyze areas of waste and implement control solutions to promote efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience working in aerospace/aviation manufacturing environments.
- Posesses a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or equivalent.
- Have an intermediate level of computer literacy.
- A background check and drug screen are contingent upon hiring.
