POSITION TITLE: Assembly Machine Operator

REPORTS TO: Business Unit Manager, HDL & DACO

Position Summary:

The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining assembly machines in the HDL department to produce high-quality components efficiently. This role ensures that all production goals are met while adhering to safety standards, quality control procedures, and company policies. The operator is responsible for setting up machines, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with team members to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate assembly machines according to production specifications and company guidelines.
• Monitor machine performance during operation, ensuring quality standards are met and defects are minimized.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with machines during production to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products to verify they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machinery to ensure continued optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including machine settings, output, and any defects.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to resolve production issues and improve efficiency.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience operating assembly machines or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address machine-related issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and proper use of PPE in a manufacturing setting.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

Experience/Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in machine operation or assembly is preferred.

Other Details:

• Work Environment: Factory setting with regular interaction with production and warehouse areas.
• Physical Demands: Role may require constant walking, repeated twisting, standing, bending, squatting and lifting 50 lbs. or higher.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
• Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, conferences, and inter-facility coordination.
