We are seeking a highly motivated, technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead and coach in a dynamic operations environment to support our Middletown Engine Center Quality as a Cell Leader to lead inspection and delivery of high-quality engines.

You will be part of a manufacturing operations team responsible for the assembly and test of new engine programs like the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Next Generation Part Family (NGPF).

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement plans to support the business objectives and metrics in regard to safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance.
  • Maintain a perfect EH&S record by creating a safe working culture
  • Attend customer production meetings, set-priorities, contingency plan around roadblocks, and report out on shift results and accomplishments
  • Lead process improvement opportunities using ACE and Lean Strategies to enhance quality and on-time delivery while reducing operational costs
  • Coach employees to develop a highly motivated and effective team
  • Manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce (Time & attendance, rewards, communication, etc.)
  • Provide technical support on issues within the assembly and test process at the PDC for commercial and military programs, customer returns, and various Material Review Board corrective action investigations.
  • Provide technical support and maintain a strong working relationship with the engine center team.
  • Investigate and analyze any hardware/assembly concerns causing PDC quality and delivery issues by reviewing procedures, specifications, instructions, processes, and equipment to ensure compliance to applicable drawing, specifications, and standards in an effort to resolve Quality and Delivery concerns.
  • Establish and maintain customer relations and other relevant functions, with respect to the quality for the different engine families

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in manufacturing/production experience
  • 3+ years of operations experience in a shop environment, in manufacturing, operations or other relative industry and working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures and in an in a quality discipline
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Clear, concise and effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with all levels of management and in a union environment
  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, strong drive and results driven
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.)
  • Consistent track record in team leadership roles
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications specifically Excel and Powerpoint, as well as SAP and Solumina
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving & mathematic skills
  • Able to drive obligations to closure with precision to benefit the organization and every constituent
  • Experience with EH&S principles
