Position Summary
We are seeking a 1st shift Assembly-Mechanical Lead . As a Assembly-mechanical Lead you will assemble and oversee assembly line to meet production standards and quality standards. Assist the production Supervisor/Manager to perform other production tasks related to the coordination of the assembly line(s) while effectively communicating with production line employees. The Line Lead works to achieve the quality and delivery goals of the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and support assembly team members to achieve daily production, quality, and safety goals.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools while assembling products according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Monitor production lines to ensure safe, efficient operations and address production issues in partnership with the supervisor.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to verify products meet manufacturing specifications and identify non-conforming materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate assembly and measurements.
- Troubleshoot assembly and production issues, recommending improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Complete production, quality, and inspection documentation while maintaining accurate records.
- Operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and other production equipment as required.
- Cross-train and provide support across multiple assembly lines to meet production demands.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 3+ years varied assembly experience preferred.
- Previous experience leading and directing personnel.
- Ability to effectively teach and train
- Must have good computer skills in ERP, Microsoft Excel, and Email.
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
- Must have basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate each piece of equipment on the line.
- Knowledge and ability to use necessary tools required in assembly.
- The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of pneumatics and electronic controls.
- Must be a hands-on individual motivated to work in a dynamic, change-based environment.
- Ability to setup and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues.
- Must have a mechanical inclination and be able to use their hands to assemble equipment.
- Ability to handle conflicts and resolve them in an appropriate manner
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
