Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble steel components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Verify materials and components prior to assembly.
• Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet specifications.
• Accurately measure parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision tools.
• Identify and report material, quality, or equipment issues to supervision.
• Maintain production standards while ensuring quality and safety requirements are met.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
• Assist with packaging, staging, and preparation of finished products for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S principles.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team problem-solving activities.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to interpret basic production drawings and work instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

• Prior experience in metal manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial assembly.
• Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Ability to safely handle materials, tools, and equipment required for assembly operations.
