Job Overview:

 

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Assembly Department manager, the Assembler will assemble various components and sub-assemblies on attachments for hydraulic excavators following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the listed duties. This position will also include priming/painting of completed projects and attachments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific assembly requirements and adheres to all requirements for product assembly.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to handle and move materials.
  • Ensures all bolts and fasteners are torqued to certain specifications and in the proper manner using the proper tools.
  • Maintains a neat and organized work environment.
  • Inputs data into computer system for serializing specific components of the product being built.
  • Tests products following the assembly process to ensure proper functionality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with assembly of construction equipment and/or hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds will be moved with a forklift or overhead crane. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to power tools and will need personal protective equipment. The employee will be in a well-lighted, heated indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation.
