Job Overview:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in partial clean room attire; clean room smock, shoe covers, hairnet and gloves. 
  • Operate hand tools to assemble delicate subsystems 
  • Use a microscope to perform detailed inspection of in process material and assemblies 
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, identify non-conformances, and work within existing process flows 
  • Ability to identify issues with existing processes and communicate solutions with engineering team 
  • Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy daily 
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation 

Education & Experience

  • Vocational Training or Associate’s Degree in relevant technical field (Electronics, Lasers, Optics) 
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment. 
  •  
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Dexterity to handle delicate, small optics with tweezers or other tools 
  • Previous experience reading, understanding and following procedures and work instructions. 
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and good communication skills.
  • Good record keeping skills, organized, dependable. 
  • Familiar with working in a cleanroom environment; follower of good housekeeping practices. 
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills. 
  • Demonstrated attention to detail. 
  • Must work well in teams. 

Skills

  • Previous experience in optic or electronic components manufacture. 
  • Computer skills: using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), LabView, Oracle or Agile experience a plus. 
  • Previous experience using high tech equipment. 
  • Knowledgeable of laser safety and standards, and safety practices in general. 
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, vacuum systems, welding and/or machining equipment a plus 

Working Conditions

  • This position works in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects regularly
