Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun
  • Maintain inventory of product in work stations
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established  safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and other printed documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all peers and management staff, and be able to work within the team structures. This includes assisting with training and dissemination of information vital to the growth of the team, department, and company.
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to use chemicals/compounds correctly and safely by following prescribed directions and the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions. This includes standing and sitting, generally more than 25% of the time is spent in a standing position.
  • Ability to interpret the solder connection results made after a printed circuit board has been wave soldered, and demonstrated ability to make the appropriate changes to the solder machine settings if problems are identified.
  • Have the ability to lift and carry items between the weights of 5-25 pounds. Depending on the product line this job is associated with may need to be able to lift 100 lbs.
