Hourly Pay Rate: $21.87

Location: 1200 W Marley Rd, Olathe, KS 66061

The position will be responsible for complete assembly of the mechanical parts (motor and gear box) and fan for the cooling tower. The position may assume additional duties as assigned. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere. The position may work in any station or operation of the final assembly process.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required


  1. Correctly identify parts
  2. Safely and effectively use assembly tools such as wrenches, impact guns, drill, pop rivet gun, torque wrench, protractor, sealant tape, and glue
  3. Pull correct part off cart
  4. Assemble motor platform
  5. Install motor and gearbox subcomponents (reference assembly manual where needed)
  6. Attach motor and gearbox to motor platform
  7. Assemble fan (place blades on hub and balance)
  8. Place assembled parts on cart
  9. Choose the correct tools that corresponds with build order
  10. Choose what motors and gearboxes to use in accordance with the build materials
  11. Knowledge in reading blue prints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, dimensions of the structure or fixture
  12. Knowledge in interpreting build orders and engineering drawings
  13. Knowledge of manufacturing safety guidelines


  • Ability to apply shop mathematics to solve problems
  • Ability to operate man lift and ladders safely and efficiently
  • Ability to operate impact gun and torque wrench
  • Ability to use fan balancing tool
  • Ability to use other hand tools (both manual and pneumatic) correctly and safely
  • Ability to read a protractor and pitch level
  • Ability to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards
  • Ability to plan work and select proper tools
  • Ability to interpret build orders and engineering drawings correctly
  • Ability to compare and accurately determine difference in size, shape, and form of objects
  • Ability to adapt to change and flex his/her work at appropriate times so as to support the assembly process
  • Ability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
  • Ability to use air bearings, overhead crane, and air float safety and effectively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow and understand directions
