Job Description

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

 
BAE Systems is seeking candidates with electronic assembly/solder experience with a focus on Space circuit card assembly. As the Space Assembly Lead, you will assist with supporting delivery objectives for your area by having an understanding of the product flow and essential manufacturing processes and capabilities within the team. You will be working closely with the manufacturing and support team on a daily basis. Quality and Compliance are your #1 priority. This means driving and supporting a zero defect culture. Ensure compliance to FOD, ESD, Security and Safety procedures.

Primary tasks will be:
  • Communicate goals, priorities, and overtime needs to the team
  • Answer moderate technical questions, system related questions
  • Assist with general manufacturing quality questions as they relate to the task at hand
  • Act as a primary mentor for the area supporting training needs
  • Assemble and solder electrical components
  • Verify and inspect product

Secondary tasks include:
  • Minor documentation corrections to manufacturing systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Participate in scheduling activities

Required Skills and Education

  • 2-3 years’ experience of assembly experience in a circuit card manufacturing area.
  • Experience with the THAAD (Thermal High Altitude Area Defense) assemblies.
  •  A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and be able to use a computer to communicate with the team.
  • Follow written instructions, work independently, and use clear written or oral communication to share information with team members, support staff, and management.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • 3 years’ experience of assembly experience in a space circuit card manufacturing area.
  • An understanding of our systems including FLX, Oracle, APEX databases, and Trace Database is a plus.

Typical Education and Experience

Typically a High School Diploma and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
