Position Summary:

The Aviation Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for assembling and testing basic to intermediate level complexity mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic sub/top assemblies ensuring compliance with all requirements relating to quality, safety, workmanship, functionality, performance, regulatory, and customer requirements. Training and guidance from an Aviation Manufacturing Technician (AMT) level II or AMT level III may be required to accomplish tasks as needed. Follow and comply with documented work instructions, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, customer requirements, or other approved technical data in hard copy and electronic formats as needed to accomplish required tasks. Ability to understand and use basic mechanical and electronic measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, scales, and DMM. Able to perform cleaning, conformal coating, soldering, winding, safety wire, wire crimp, marking, etching, and varnishing processes. Comply with chemical Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines, safety guidelines, and procedures. Ensure completeness and accuracy of work order documentation in accordance with procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Team engagement to develop common goals that support production plans

  • Set up and operate test equipment as needed

  • Generate and maintain accurate records and proper documentation throughout the entire production cycle as required

  • Have knowledge and understanding of the use of various internal and external forms and documents as required

  • Provide input for continuous process improvement

  • Maintain open communication with peers, management, internal customers, and stakeholders at all times

  • Complete operations IAW work instruction requirements

  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of Ontic QMS

  • Maintain training/skills currency

  • Compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations at all times

  • Learn new products and functions as required

  • Must have a positive attitude, willingness to learn

Job requirements:

A successful candidate must have/be:

  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a Twelfth Grade Level

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations

  • 0-1-year experience

  • Aerospace industry preferred

  • Must have knowledge using mechanical hand tools

  • Knowledge of office management software is a plus

  • Positive attitude and team player

  • Able to adapt job activity methods or processes to satisfy changing environments to meet daily deadlines

  • Customer-focused, proactive, positive, and driven to achieve departmental and company goals in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Take the initiative with job responsibilities, doing what is needed without being asked, and providing follow-through.

  • Exhibits adaptability by maintaining effectiveness in varying environments and with many different tasks, responsibilities, and people; willingness to assist with any requests and take on new tasks with a positive attitude
