Job Description:

JOB TITLE: ELECTRO-MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER II

REPORTS TO: ASSEMBLY LEADER

Position Responsibilities

The Electro Mechanical Assembler is responsible for accurately assembling products according to specified instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures. This role requires effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members, follow instructions, and report any issues to supervisors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can follow technical instructions, and has a commitment to producing high-quality work in a timely manner.

Position Tasks

  • Read, comprehend and follow product drawings, schematics and other graphical or written descriptions of the proper assembly of electromechanical products.
  • Adhere to policies of Vante workmanship standards, quality assurance, ESD, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Correctly use multiple types of hand tools, soldering and test equipment to perform the assembly and related testing, as per documentation and workmanship standards.
  • Compare test results with specifications and make a judgment as to acceptability of a product’s conformance.
  • Complete record, paper and electronic, that report completion of tasks, work orders, identifying nonconforming material, verification of test results or inspections, etc.
  • Potentially may be required to troubleshoot discrepant material and interact with other Vante departments to diagnose cause of problems.
  • Attend team meetings; may provide input on quality, cost, or production issues.
  • Submit redlines and engineering change requests and work instructions as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and/or operate equipment such as oscilloscopes (basic), soldering tools, and various meters.
  • Experience soldering electronic components and wires onto printed circuit boards.
  • Wire harness experience
  • Experience with torque specifications and tools.
  • IPC certification is a plus (not mandatory), expired certification is acceptable.
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication
  • Following verbal instructions or following sample units to determine assembly requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend documents such as assembly instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, general technical procedures or operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one or before small groups. Able to read and write in English.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or lift or move up to 40 pounds. Good hand dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Ability to wear PPE masks, gloves and safety glasses.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
