  • 2nd shift: 2:30PM-11PM (Mon-Fri) + Overtime

Join Our Team as an Assembler!

Are you passionate about Assembly? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Assembly function. As an Assembly function, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. 

In this job, you will assemble medium-voltage switchgear units and corresponding subassemblies. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and meet requirements within time constraints. This is an assembly line operation involving as many as six stations. Initially you will be assigned to one station but will need to be flexible and open to working additional stations as business needs require. Tasks require a high degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools, occasionally work while standing on ladders, and occasionally work inside tight compartments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble switchgear enclosures, both on the assembly line and directly on the shop floor, ranging in size from 4’x4’x8’ to 6’x6’x12’. 
  • Identify, transport, install, mount and bolt all types of components (ranging from 5 lbs. to 100 lbs., with assistance), including bus assemblies, high-voltage switches, mounting and support plates, lock assemblies, doors and roofs. 
  • Perform mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and tape measures. 
  • Have proficiency in the use of simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges, instruments and overhead cranes. 
  • Operate simple machinery such as automatic riveting machines. 
  • Lifting (up to 40 lbs), standing, bending, pushing, pulling, walking

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical operations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic shop math and measurement tools such as tape measures. 
  • Ability to work from complex blueprints, assembly drawings, and specifications. 
  • Knowledge and ability to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools. 

Preferred:

  • One year of electrical wiring assembly. Candidates with electrical or mechanical trade school education may also be considered.
