Assembler in West Chester, PA

Multiple Shifts Available 1st M-F 630am - 230PM

Pay Starting at $20+/hr. Depending on Experience

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled assembler to perform avariety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product.You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product.This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.

You must have desired technical knowledge and possess greatmanual dexterity. Ability tointerpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and followthem with precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts, and sub-assemblies on any line within the plant, in accordance with predetermined standard work.

  • Read, understand, and apply method sheets, assembly diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.

  • Be knowledgeable, and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.

  • Read print drawings to determine dimensions, design, and materials for construction.

  • Operate power pneumatic and hand tools required for performing job duties.

  • Effectively use measuring devices such as tape measures and levels.

  • Maintain and inspect tools and equipment, and create work orders for tools/equipment to be repaired as needed.

  • Loading and unloading onto conveyors and carts, operating fork trucks, and hoists.

  • Work in a team environment, and assist co-workers in other areas as needed/directed, suggesting process improvement ideas.

  • Perform general housekeeping of the work area.

  • Tasks can include but are not limited to: brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests.

  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor/team leader.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) is preferred.

  • One (1) year in manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints in a manufacturing setting

  • Familiar with and ability to utilize all hand tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain general understanding of business process.

  • Familiar with and can utilize power tools.

  • Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems.

  • Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all general work rules, policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to learn to operate all equipment associated with the job; including, but not limited to, power hand tools, forklifts, skyjacks, cranes, and measuring devices.

  • Ability to identify routine problem causation, and correct routine problems, and willingness to learn.

  • Broad working knowledge and experience with standard work instructions.

  • Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.

  • Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
