Job Overview:

Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual for an entry-level Assembler 1 position with paint preparation responsibilities in our TCS division. This is a 1st shift production role focused on assembling components and supporting the paint process to meet production requirements. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated to learn, mechanically inclined, and able to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Assembly Responsibilities

  • Receives written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Selects parts required for assembly of components or finished goods.
  • Assembles parts into completed units following standard procedures.
  • Records time and materials used in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Records scrap using established procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work area.
  • Identifies and communicates quality or production concerns to supervision.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.

Paint Prep Responsibilities

  • Selects parts and prepares surfaces for painting (cleaning, masking, plugging as needed).
  • Assists with preparing paint materials (mixing, stirring, staging supplies).
  • Loads and stages parts for the paint process.
  • Supports operation of paint equipment following established procedures.
  • Performs basic quality checks on coated parts (coverage, finish, defects).
  • Cleans and maintains paint tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follows all safety procedures for handling materials and chemicals.

General Responsibilities

  • Works closely with team members and supervision to meet production goals.
  • Follows all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Prior manufacturing/ assembly & industrial painting experience required.
  • 2+ Years of work with detailed written instructions 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Manually lifting up to 70 pounds. 
  • Use of written and oral communication. 
  • Capable of standing/walking more than 80% of work time. 
  • 100% of working time (except for assigned breaks) is spent on the production floor.
