Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:   To assemble electrical and mechanical parts requiring some precision, use of hand tools and small power tools or soldering equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform assembly operations on parts with a variety of tools including small hammers, screw drivers and various hand tools;
• Perform cleaning operations on parts as required;
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts under the guidance of group inspector or Supervisor;
• Perform assembly operation as specified by Visual Method Sheets or Working Group Leader;
• Packaging of parts and preparation and completion of required documentation for shipment;
• Perform a variety of miscellaneous shop work and other duties as assigned by Supervisor;Willingness to cross train with other departments as needed;
• Willingness to cross train with other departments as needed;
• Responsible to keep clean, orderly, and safe work areas;
• Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Safety Health & Safety Policy.

Additional Skills & Responsibilities:

• Previous Assembly experience preferred;
• Position requires good fine motor skills and ability to read and follow written instructions;
• Good mechanical ability a plus;
• High school graduate or equivalent;
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds and sitting and/or standing for long periods of time;
• Must be available as needed for up to 50 hours per week;
• Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
• Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
• Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results).
