Job Overview:

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and dependable ASE Certified Automotive Technician to join our team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing a variety of vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing quality workmanship and excellent customer service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and preventive services, including oil changes, brake service, fluid checks, and tune-ups.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
  • Perform engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake, and exhaust system repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC and climate-control systems.
  • Use diagnostic scanners, meters, and other automotive testing equipment.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to verify repairs.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical service information.
  • Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and established safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and labor performed.
  • Communicate vehicle conditions and recommended repairs clearly to supervisors and/or customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly use and maintain shop tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Stay current with new automotive technology, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications- ASE Certification required; additional ASE certifications are preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose problems accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle automotive components and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications- Multiple ASE certifications, such as A1–A8.

  • ASE Master Technician certification.
  • Experience working with domestic and/or foreign vehicles.
  • Experience with advanced electrical and computer-controlled vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer-specific diagnostic equipment.
  • State inspection or emissions certification, where applicable.

Physical Requirements- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry automotive parts and equipment.
  • Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and shop environments.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work EnvironmentThis position works primarily in an automotive repair shop environment. The technician may be exposed to noise, vehicle exhaust, oils, lubricants, cleaning chemicals, dust, and other automotive-related materials.
