Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats, Inc., is widely known and honored by culinary experts and chefs for the superb quality and rich, smoky flavor of our Applewood smoked bacon, ham, poultry, sausage, and other premium quality specialty meats. Known as one of the premier employers in Central Wisconsin, we are currently seeking to add an Area Sales Representative (ASR) to our dynamic team.

This ASR position is for the West United States territory. This role is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada market covering the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nevada. Combined, the West territory is responsible for the largest foodservice market in the country. Living in close proximity to a major airport and the desire to travel is a must. This is a unique opportunity to represent the food industry’s premier brand in smoked meats and be part of a highly dynamic and energetic team.

JOB SUMMARY:

The ASR is an outside sales position, (reporting to the Sales Director) responsible for promoting the company’s history, process, products, and service. The primary focus will be to prospect and grow existing relationships with Nueske’s distributors and end users in the food service and retail environments. Success will be measured by the ability to represent the Nueske brand in a way that supports the Company’s mission, vision, culture, and core values while consistently hitting activity benchmarks to generate new business, grow existing relationships, achieve sales, and profit goals and executing against administrative requirements. This is a salaried sales position with bonus and profit-sharing opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

· Travel to major markets within the West Sales Territory.

· Developing and supporting a customer base that is consistent with Nueske’s core values and culture.

· Identifying opportunities for new customers and markets that support company growth strategies.

· Building and maintaining knowledge of distributor networks (both Nueske’s and competitors).

· Planning and participation at national food shows which includes training and industry educational sessions, show-sponsored buyer meetings, customer and/or prospect meetings and booth representation.

· Identifying coverage gaps in territory (geographical, distribution, performance, etc.)


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· One to three years of successful outside sales experience.

· Possess strong organizational and time management skills that deliver timely response and completion of administrative requirements which include monthly territory activity summaries, expenses, and customer relationship management system (CRM) entries.

· The ability to understand and align the goals of prospects and customers with the strengths of Nueske’s process, product, and service offerings.

· Experience managing difficult customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs, soliciting customer feedback to improve service and product offerings, and responding to requests for service and assistance.

· The ability to communicate effectively and professionally to internal and external contacts in-person and via telephone, e-mail, and text.

· Effectively and efficiently use the tools necessary to communicate, plan and execute a territory sales plan and complete administrative tasks using Microsoft Outlook Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

· The ability to travel 50%, primarily by vehicle within a multi-state territory.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· College degree in related field will be given priority consideration.

· Protein sales experience in food service and/or retail markets a plus.
