Job Overview:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the efficient operation and production in all phases of the housekeeping, laundry, and public space areas of
the hotel. Incumbent’s objective shall be to effectively maintain and ensure the highest level of safety, security, cleanliness and guest satisfaction of hotel guest rooms and public areas. Responsible and accountable to conduct his/her responsibilities within the confines of EEO, Title VII and other applicable laws.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma required; college degree in hotel/restaurant management preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years hotel operations experience required. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assures all co-workers at all assigned hotels are aware of the necessity to eliminate risks to guests and co-worker
    security and life safety. Ensures all housekeeping and laundry equipment is well maintained, safe and operates at
    optimum level at all assigned hotels.
  • Establishes and enforces procedures for the personal safety of guests and co-workers and for the security of their
    property and the hotel’s property.
  • Assures standard of cleanliness in rooms, suites, and all public areas are maintained to pass QA inspections.
  • Assure Marriott Reward/Hilton Honors rooms are set-up to established standards.
  • Directly supervises any assigned Lead Housekeeping and selects, trains and develops Housekeeping Managers at all
    assigned hotels.
  • Creates synergistic efforts and ensures a creative environment for all assigned hotels.
  • Assists Lead Housekeepers with all recruitment efforts for all housekeeping positions.
  • Interprets policies, rules and regulations affecting all housekeeping departments to assist Lead Housekeepers.
  • Monitors assigned cleaning projects monthly. Ensures these projects are entered into ServicePro.
  • Reports maintenance deficiencies throughout the properties during inspections and has these deficiencies entered into
    ServicePro.
  •  Conducts training and orientation on an ongoing basis to ensure co-workers are rendering immaculate cleanliness in
    guest rooms and all public areas and meeting guest needs while maintaining outstanding guest relations.
  • Insures that proper, fair, and equitable personnel relations are followed and deals with personnel problems should they
    occur.
  • Conducts Lead Housekeeper and co-worker performance appraisals on an annual basis.
  •  Maintains open and daily communications with co-workers and other management to ensure a harmonious working
    environment and to foster a maximum level of co-worker morale and productivity.
  • Ensures co-workers have adequate supplies and operating equipment to perform their jobs properly. Orders and
    receives supplies as necessary to maintain inventory levels (par stock – 3 turns). Calculates, submits and monitors
    department costs against plan and ensures action steps are taken to maintain department’s performance against plan.
  • Ensures that a monthly inventory for linen and supplies takes place.
  • Responsible for meeting all budgetary, cost, and other financial objectives for the housekeeping department at all
    assigned hotels.
  • Assures that proper procedures are being followed in the laundry area for sorting, washing, drying and folding of linen
    received from guest floors and public areas. Ensures that linen closet storage and public area supply closets are neat,
    clean and stocked at all times.
  • Functions as Manager-On-Duty (MOD) as part of the management team and participates in all management programs.
  •  Monitors co-worker attendance in conformance with the standards, following up with co-workers as appropriate.
  • Works varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific brand standards available).
  • Required to fully comply with High Hotels, Ltd. rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.
