Description

Matrix is seeking a self-driven Architectural Designer to join our team.  This position requires a diverse knowledge of Revit and ability to apply on industrial facility design. The position will work independently and as a part of a diverse team of multi-discipline engineers and architects to solve problems and execute projects for industrial and manufacturing clients.  We are looking for a talented individual with strong organizational skills; someone who works effectively with divers teams to provide innovative solutions; a self-motivated person who will help plan and inspire the work efforts of others.

Our team provides architectural, structural, and civil engineering designs for manufacturing facilities.  We have several exciting project opportunities that include retrofitting existing facilities and designing new facilities on greenfield sites.  Examples include process areas, hazardous material storage, warehouses, offices, breakrooms, and locker rooms.  Plus, our architects, engineers, and designers get to work on projects across all industries such as spirits, aggregates, food, beverage, grain, steel, chemical and petrochemical.  Our workload is diverse in size and complexity and we have a reputation that allows us to choose the clients that we like to work for.  Our team is equipped with the latest technology and we have flexible working arrangements for working from home or office.

Specifications

• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Associates or Bachelors of Science degree in Architecture or related field
• Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in building design using Revit
• Experience preparing contract document for construction including drawings and specifications
• Ability to self-manage assignments for multiple projects concurrently
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills
• Understanding of building structural and plumbing design and drafting practices a plus

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a professional engineer or architect to design buildings, space renovations, and structures.
• Assist with and lead the development of contract documents including drawings, details, specifications, and installation scopes of work using AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Assist with gathering field data including hand measurements, surveying, and 3D scanning.
• Assist with estimating material take-offs and preparing budgetary construction cost estimates.
• Participate as a project team member, contributing ideas and solutions.
• Prepare project correspondence as required.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of Revit standards, templates, and libraries.
• Have the ability to grow into a role of leading projects through design, coordination and delivery.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• This employee must be able to perform industrial fieldwork which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.
