We have an opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our Commercial & Infrastructure Flow team in Kansas City, KS. This facility designs, engineers, and manufactures industrial-sized pumps that sustainably move water (supply & removal) for industrial and municipal customers. You will analyze, organize, and configure the application of centrifugal pumps to conform to customer requirements of a complex nature. You will:

  • Design and engineer custom quotations to meet customer specifications & requirements.
  • Review & interpret rotating equipment and pump requirements, engineering calculations, materials of construction, special requirements, pricing, replacement & interchangeability, and system design & evaluation.
  • Supply technical information on product performance, auxiliary equipment needed, installation requirements, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical information, calculations, instruction manuals, and cost estimates relating to bids on new and existing equipment; this includes determining special requirements for order processing.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, supply, engineering firms, and end-users to ensure projects successfully make it to the bid-phase.
  • Assist in product training to internal personnel and/or field sales and assist in product presentations to customers or distributors.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field. Candidates with an associate’s degree (A.S.) and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read mechanical schematics and understand component level operations/function.
  • Self-motivated, advanced problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and mechanical skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally with individuals both within and outside an organization.
  • Some experience or knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, such as pumps, motors, valves, hydraulic systems, fluid handling systems, or rotating equipment a plus.
