REPORTS TO: MANAGER – PRODUCT AND PROCESS TECHNOLOGY


BUILD IT- The Application Engineer will configure solutions to configure PRI technologies to meet individual client and market needs. They will work closely between sales and production to provide innovative clean solutions.


OWN IT- They will develop specific project plans that address client needs and guide the efforts of the sales team and product offerings at PRI.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS

  • Products and Process Technology includes the collection and assessment of market needs, from a technical standpoint, from industry’s opinion makers (including international health organizations, regulators, engineering and architecture firms, biosafety consultants and other individuals and organizations as deemed appropriate) to define, prioritize and assist in PRI’s new product development efforts.
  • In a corporate capacity, the Application Engineer works hand-in-hand with the Manager of Products and Process Technology in support of the various divisional sales staff by defining and applying PRI’s technologies to meet specific client and market needs. This responsibility includes the evaluation of opportunities - prescribing a project plan to ensure all client needs are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner, and providing guidance (configured solutions) to the sales team in terms of PRI’s product offering and pricing.
  • The Application Engineer is expected to closely interface with the other senior management positions in engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing and quality.



Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical degree in mechanical, chemical, engineering or science field, or equivalent work experience. Mechanical aptitude, with a basic understanding of heat transfer systems, is a must. Chemical aptitude is a plus
  • 5+ years in sales of industrial machinery, capital goods, engineered products and related activities.
  • Expertise in how to communicate features and benefits of systems and equipment; know the technical application of equipment systems; ability to understand the complexities of system integration and to foresee and communicate problematic situations
  • Demonstrated ability to discuss problems and negotiate mutual agreements with consulting engineers, contractors and customers
  • Experience in the analysis of competitive technologies and market feedback to identify opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to read blue prints/drawings
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite, including Excel
  • Ability to travel as required, including some overseas trips; must have current passport or ability to obtain one in the short-term
  • Ability to attend and/or participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events and technical groups
  • Foreign language skills a plus
