The Motion Applications Engineer, located in Santa Clara, will perform testing and troubleshooting of YAI developed products to reduce defects / bugs in the field to an absolute minimum.  Supporting internal development processes employed by the applications and development teams to deliver new features and products is an important part of this role.  Additionally, focus is placed on providing high quality technical expertise to assist fellow YAI engineers and customers in applying current and legacy Yaskawa motion products; an overriding goal is to continually increase technical and commercial knowledge of Yaskawa product feature/functions and integration with complementary products and technologies. 

The successful candidate will display a driven attitude and capacity towards learning and mastering motion automation technology, and applying practical engineering knowledge.

Requirements:

• Four year BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineer.
• One to Three years of related work experience.
• Software expertise: PLC programming and languages such as C++, C#, VB, or Python.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including technical writing and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational time management skills with a team approach.

The Motion Application Engineering group engages in many activities which make the job interesting and non repetitive. Job responsibilities include:

• Support of robotics applications;
• Support development of Yaskawa motion controllers
• Supporting applications at large OEM customers
