Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and set-up of laser test systems and new product setups
  • Evaluation, documentation, and presentation of test results
  • Technical supervision of projects in close cooperation with all Photonics development departments around the globe
  • Planning and Execution of customer- and internal trainings
  • Service and support activities - both internally and at customer sites

General tasks

  • Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety, laser safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Photonics or comparable
  • Experience with .net and scripting programming languages
  • Experience with lasers and process development
  • Strong multidisciplinary problem-solving skills including software, mechanical, electrical and system engineering are mandatory
  • Ability to carry out customer on-site installation support, travel with our sales team as well as exhibitions & conferences
  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems in an independent way.
  • Strong teamwork skills in achieving KPIs and strategic goals as a team

Travel Requirements

  • ~20%

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate proof of up to date Covid-19 vaccination status per CDC guidelines prior to employment start with Novanta.
  • Mobility and vision to work within tight machine spacing and with potentially dangerous laser beams
