Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The API Product Manager leads, develops, and executes an API strategy to deliver value to our high-volume and most strategic print resellers. This role owns the API as a product, which includes defining the roadmap based on market feedback, collaborating closely with the technology team to develop interfaces that are easy and quick to integrate with, and prioritizing features and enhancements within sprints. This role will partner with Marketing to develop collateral and engage with customers for feedback throughout their API journey.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

  • Define and own the prioritized product Roadmap for the API, based on customer insights and company vision
  • Document the end-to-end developer experience, identifying needs for documentation, tools, and communication and build a plan to quickly fill the gaps and maintain current information ongoing
  • Build and maintain tools including a developer portal
  • Apply product management best practices to gather customer insights and internal feedback to create and validate additional use cases for the API to translate into specifications and product requirements
  • Partner with IT BA to help translate business requirements into technical requirements, and vice-versa, ensuring requirements are designed to scale
  • Partner with development teams (internal and external) to prioritize within sprints to ensure successful delivery of features and enhancements
  • Support API testing and troubleshoot issues during client implementation and use, and during internal testing
  • Work with marketing team to develop a marketing plan for the API and support the development of customer-facing collateral
  • Define and track success metrics for API adoption and use

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any other related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years managing API products and 3+ years with e-commerce APIs
  • Minimum 2+ years of designing, programming, testing, or supporting APIs (do not need to know how to code)
  • Minimum 1+ year of technical writing

  • Strong office software knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in JIRA and Confluence

  • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours work may be required to meet customer and/or business needs.
  • Position may require occasional travel to Los Angeles, California HQ, and other locations across the US
