Job Overview:

NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, the GPU ignited the next era of computing with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world, as well as powering the Omniverse platform for end-to-end collaboration and simulation of complex design workflows. NVIDIA's Tegra Product team brings our exceptional GPU capability to cutting edge visual computing platforms and devices, robotics and self-driving cars. Our wireless products demand high bandwidth and low latency responses. The responsibility of our wireless hardware connectivity team is to meet and exceed these high-performance demands and deliver world class products without compromise.

We are now looking for an Antenna Engineer to join our Tegra Product Team! Successful candidates for this position will be people with a passion for working with a close knit, multi-disciplinary team, and enjoy hands-on work with groundbreaking visual computing platforms and devices.

In this role, you will craft integrated conformal antennas for our next generation of products. You will collaborate closely with multiple engineering fields ranging from product design to PCB layout to manufacturing engineers to develop a fully optimized consumer product. In addition, you will participate in hardware testing, debugging and validation of new NVIDIA products to ensure performance and quality objectives are met. This is an extraordinary opportunity to collaborate and work with hard-working and diverse teams.

What you will be doing:

  • From early design concepts through mass manufacturing, you will be responsible for the design of conformal integrated antenna systems within our products

  • As part of the design flow, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to model and perform detailed simulations to ensure tight integration and optimize the antenna radiated performance

  • From early prototype to mass production, you will be responsible for validating system performance and compliance metrics such as TRP, TIS, SAR, and EMC

  • You will be in charge of developing and completing validation test plans, collecting radiation performance measurements, publishing test reports, providing feedback to other design engineers, and leading some manufacturing activities

  • You will simulate and measure spectrum characteristics of different I/O interfaces to analysis, understand and address any desense problems related to the wireless receiver performance and develop solutions to improve their coexistence performance

  • You will be responsible for the development and support of factory test stations and factory line bring-up

What we need to see:

  • Highly motivated self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced dynamic interdisciplinary engineering environment where collaboration and interpersonal skills are essential

  • BSEE (or equivalent experience) or MSEE with emphasis in antennas, electromagnetics, or RF

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools - CST, HFSS

  • Experience with wireless systems - 5G, Wi-Fi, BT, GPS

  • Experience with regulatory requirements and process for wireless consumer devices, including FCC, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, TIA/EIA

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • RF design experience and a good solid understanding of RF layout principles

  • Good understanding of the common wireless protocols and high-speed interfaces and their coexistence would be preferred

  • Knowledge of Signals and Systems, as well as DSP, would be a plus

  • Experience with board level SI simulations of high-speed lanes and assess coupling to device antennas

  • Any experience in DL and ML with application to computational electromagnetics, antenna design, and HPC is also a plus

  • Coding skills for data analysis and test equipment automation
