If you have an interest in quality and enjoy being hands on in developing and validating methods to detect differences among products, consider an analytical engineer position within the Quality Control group of JSR Micro.
•Minimum 2-4 years’ experience as an analytical chemist in a lab environment – production environment experience preferred. M.S. or Ph.D. in analytical chemistry will also be considered.
•Proficient in the use of wet lab analytical tools and instruments such as IC-MS preferred. Organic compound separation techniques such as GC/MS, LC-MS, and GPC a plus.
•Method development and tool troubleshooting experience are also preferred.
•Proficiency and experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) needed; use of JMP preferred.
•Strong computer skills required – Excel, PowerPoint, database and statistical software experience required.
•Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
HERE'S MORE OF WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
•Use skills as an experienced professional to perform analyses and report results with no supervision.
•Collect data on production samples by operating analytical instruments per documented procedures, ensure that results are within set control limits and proposed recommendations on observed trends on historical data.
•Work on and resolve wide range of laboratory issues/problems of diverse scope where analysis of data require evaluation of related factors, complete with little supervision.
•Initiate and perform analyses and statistically designed experiments to address customer issues with general instructions.
•Maintain and verify reliability of test equipment.
•Create reports and group presentations using Excel, Access, JMP and PowerPoint, to communicate data to other company divisions – Production, Engineering, Sales and Management.
•Identify and execute improvements to existing quality procedures following set guidelines on accuracy and repeatability.
•Independently design experiments using statistical methods (DoEs) towards developing and optimizing new test methods for products and raw materials and facilitate the implementation of these procedures by education other member of the Quality Control Division.
•Work in a team environment that includes cross-departmental participation from Engineering, Functional, Analytical and Production.
•Make suggestions to management for improving this position, or improving work processes.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
